It is very well known and understood fact that data and information are the most important jewels for any organization. An organization cannot afford loss of any piece of information which they have stored in the database. Looking into the fact of the importance of the data and information it can be seen that organization are investing huge amount of their resources n developing and maintaining the database. To deploy this enterprises are making use of higher end devices and faster connectivity.

Databases though can be used to store huge information, but the problem is that all the information that is stored into the database is not relevant. If all the information is stored without any processing into the database then the process of extracting the information from the database becomes a hectic process.

So the process of data warehousing is used for managing and establishing the information is such a way that easily decisions could be made out of it. Basically the work of the warehousing is to manage the data into the database so that it could support the process of decision making and make it easy and more effective.

Now the question is how the process of data warehousing make decision making effective and efficient, the solution can be found out by putting some lights on the fact how does the information is processed before it could be stored into the database.

Since, all information stored into the database is not important so before the data could be stored into the database it is under processed and made to go through following processes. Firstly the data to be stored is selected, in this case we select the piece of data that is to be stored into the database, after this step we extract the data for converting it into the useful information. the extraction process includes the removal of non important characters and symbols and non meaningful data. After the extraction of useful information the information is then converted into the format that is accepted to the business process of any organization. The data is transformed into the readable format supported by any organization. After the data is transformed into the enterprise readable form the information I then integrated with the other information available so that they could form the meaningful conclusion and make decisions. After this the information is then prepared to be maintained, which includes any modification to it as with the change of time and resources.

After following these processes the information is made relevant and worth helpful in making effectibe decision support.
